How to Play
Master the rules of No, Bad Ideas!
1. Game Concept
"No, Bad Ideas!" is a collaborative and competitive board game for 2-4 players. It simulates the chaotic, challenging, and ultimately rewarding process of taking a client brief from initial concept to a full campaign launch.
The game is designed to teach media professionals about the creative process, fostering empathy and better collaboration.
2. Objective & Winning
The game is played over five separate phases. The player who wins a phase by being the first to reach the end of the board is awarded a prestigious NZ advertising award.
The player with the most awards at the end of the five phases wins the grand prize: a coveted Cannes Lion.
3. The Five Phases
Each phase is a self-contained competition with a key deliverable:
- Briefing
- Strategy
- Creative Ideation
- Creative Development
- Production
4. How to Play
- 01 Setup: All players place their Role tokens on the starting space of the current phase.
- 02 On Your Turn: Roll the dice and move forward along the path.
- 03 If you land on a named space, you are safe. If you land on a blank space, you must draw a "Campaign Twist" card from the app.
- 04 Once per phase, you may choose to draw a "Media Boost" card and play it immediately.
