How to host a First Job session to spark team rapport and set a foundation for strategic alignment.
Running the Session
Create a Session
Log in to your facilitator account on the Dashboard and create a new session. An alphanumeric 5-character **Game Room Code** will be generated instantly.
Project the Screen
Open the **Presenter (Big Screen)** page and project it onto the main projector or workshop screen. This page automatically displays the QR code and joining instructions for the participants.
Gather First Jobs
Instruct players to scan the QR code (or visit `scovell.xyz/first-job/` and enter the code). They will type their name and a single, descriptive sentence of their first job before submitting it.
Start & Guess
When everyone is in the lobby, click **Start Game**. The main screen shows a countdown. Players have 20 seconds to guess which first job belongs to the colleague featured on screen.
💡 Facilitation Tips
- **Encourage Elaborations:** When a round reveals the correct colleague, pause the game for 60 seconds. Ask that colleague to share a 1-minute story or memory about that job. This is where the real rapport-building happens!
- **Points and Speed:** Correct answers award 10 base points. An additional speed bonus of up to 10 points is awarded depending on how quickly the answer is submitted, creating a high-energy competition in the room.
- **No Player Count Constraints:** Our engine is robust. If you only have 2 or 3 players, the system automatically inserts "lie/fake" options from a pre-populated pool of 50 global seed jobs to keep the multiple-choice rounds working perfectly.
